International Academy for Sustainable Development

The International Academy for Sustainable Development relies on a high-level network of experts and partners drawn from international organizations, development agencies, diplomatic missions, academia, civil society, and the private sector. It brings together institutions and professionals committed to promoting ethical, responsible, and sustainable practices that contribute directly to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through its activities, the Academy pursues several key objectives:

• Educating and raising awareness among micro-entrepreneurs, students, educators, and community leaders on sustainable development challenges and opportunities;
• Facilitating high-level dialogue among governments, international organizations, development partners, diplomatic representatives, and businesses to foster cooperation and innovative solutions;
• Supporting concrete SDG-aligned projects by promoting partnerships, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and the mobilization of resources required for their successful implementation;
• Organizing exclusive events throughout the year within international institutions, providing participants with privileged access to forums for dialogue, learning, networking, and collaboration that are generally not accessible to the wider public.

Through this approach, the Academy contributes to strengthening capacities, disseminating best practices, and promoting sustainable initiatives that generate meaningful social, economic, and environmental impact. It also serves as a bridge between citizens, grassroots actors, and international institutions, fostering a deeper understanding of global challenges and international cooperation mechanisms.

As part of its commitment to sustainable and inclusive development, the Academy also supports a unique annual charity event that brings together diplomats, entrepreneurs, civil society representatives, and citizens alongside more than 50 diplomatic missions. Dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children around the world, this flagship initiative has been held for over 56 years and represents a concrete contribution to Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No Poverty) and Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education). By mobilizing international stakeholders and local communities around a shared humanitarian cause, the event exemplifies the power of collective action in advancing sustainable development and social inclusion.
